He is also a founder member of the IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) Teacher Development Special Interest Group and a major contributor to the BBC World Service series on new learning methods. His published works include 'Teaching for Success',(recognised as a required text in many countries)- and also the range of over thirty 'Brain-friendly' materials such as 'Pictures of English Tenses' which are a valued resource for English teachers everywhere. These materials are published and distributed by Brain friendly Publications. Mark's qualifications include an Oxford University Masters in Literature, a Post-Graduate teaching degree from the Institute of Education, London University, and many years as a Trainer and Assessor for the DTEFLA (Diploma in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language to Adults) Cambridge exams. This year he has also become a 'Dozent' for the Pedagogische Hochschule beider Basel.

The most important qualification though is a thirty year career helping learners of all ages to have more fun learning English,- and enabling other teachers to enjoy their own jobs more!
