Mark is a founder member of the Society for Effective Affective Learning and has
been a committed contributor to SEAL ever since as Hon. Secretary, Chair and Trustee. He is also a founder member
of the IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) Teacher Development Special
Interest Group and a major contributor to the BBC World Service series on new learning methods. His international
seminars and articles for professional journals have led to his appointment to the steering committee of two European
Union Teacher training projects, and to presenting the teacher's perspective at the ground-breaking OECD Conference
'The Brain and Learning' in Grenada, Spain.
His published works include 'Teaching for Success',(recognised as a required text in
many countries)- and also the range of over thirty 'Brain-friendly' materials such as 'Pictures of English Tenses'
which are a valued resource for English teachers everywhere. These materials are published and distributed by Brain

a Post-Graduate teaching degree from the Institute of Education, London University, and many years as a Trainer and Assessor
for the DTEFLA (Diploma in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language to Adults) Cambridge exams. This year he has
also become a 'Dozent' for the Pedagogische Hochschule beider Basel.
The most important qualification though is a thirty year career helping learners of
all ages to have more fun learning English,- and enabling other teachers to enjoy their own jobs more!
Mark is the Learning Consultant for the OISE Group of Schools,
and also a Dozent of the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz. He is
